Questions and Answers

"List price" is the suggested retail price provided to us by our vendors. We make no representation that a substantial number of these products have been sold or offered for sale at the list price. Actual retail prices in your area may be substantially different. Since we sell products on a national basis, it is not possible to know if our merchandise is sold at list price in any particular location or at any particular time. "You Save" reflects the difference between our price and the vendor provided list price shown on our sites. Since the list price may be different than the actual retail prices in your area, you may not actually realize a savings of this amount.

Manufacturers sometimes ask that retailers not display a price if it drops below a certain amount. The "Click here to see Lowest Price" message indicates that the price of the item is so low that the manufacturer requested that it not be advertised (that is, displayed). In a brick-and-mortar store, you would probably have to ask a salesperson what the price of the product is. At eCOST, by clicking on "Click here to see Lowest Price" you are essentially asking to see the price, at which point we show it to you.

I don't think this works with a Mac, does it?

Asked by Nelson Pinero from NY | Jun 09, 2012

I have a Mac based home system (MacBook Pro, Mac mini, apple airport extreme router, apple airport expresses, Mac time machine.). I have purchased three of the cams and all operate full-featured and stable on my system. However, I did use a windows based laptop to do initial configuration on the cameras. Once set up, you must install google chrome on your Mac in order to view the camera interface (in PUSH mode) over the internet. (they do not interface with Safari) I also use both an iPhone and iPad to view the cams and find that they all work perfectly stable when using the "IP Cam Viewer" app, available for $3.99. I have tested both in WiFi and 3G reception and both work fine. Have had the system operating for three weeks now with no challenges. Even had a power failure, and once power was restored, the cameras self-rebooted and connected for web viewing without me doing anything. Zmodo has excellent tech support who will remote in on your laptop and assist you with configuration. Long answer, YES! They work with a total Mac system!

This will work with Mac but you will have to manually configure the camera through it's web based utility. It can be accessed via web browser and entering the camera's IP address. The camera must be temporarily connected via Ethernet cable.

Can this camera be used outside?

Asked by David Schwartz from FL | Aug 18, 2012

Flag as Inappropriate

Best Answer

This camera is not weather proof. Although it can be used outside as long as wireless connectivity is available, the elements may prevent the IP cam from functioning properly or cause it to fail.
