"List price" is the suggested retail price provided to us by our vendors. We make no representation that a substantial number of these products have been sold or offered for sale at the list price. Actual retail prices in your area may be substantially different. Since we sell products on a national basis, it is not possible to know if our merchandise is sold at list price in any particular location or at any particular time. "You Save" reflects the difference between our price and the vendor provided list price shown on our sites. Since the list price may be different than the actual retail prices in your area, you may not actually realize a savings of this amount.

Manufacturers sometimes ask that retailers not display a price if it drops below a certain amount. The "Click here to see Lowest Price" message indicates that the price of the item is so low that the manufacturer requested that it not be advertised (that is, displayed). In a brick-and-mortar store, you would probably have to ask a salesperson what the price of the product is. At eCOST, by clicking on "Click here to see Lowest Price" you are essentially asking to see the price, at which point we show it to you.

ViewCast is proud to introduce the latest cutting-edge addition to the Osprey PCIe family: the Osprey 450e 4-Channel professional analog video capture card, featuring legendary Osprey quality for the latest PC architectures. Designed especially for the super high-speed PCI Express bus. Think performance!

Enabling Multi-Channel Video Capture

The Osprey 450e is a PCI Express card designed to simultaneously capture 4 individual channels of analog video and unbalanced stereo audio signals and process them independently minimizing internal PC space requirements. The channel density enabled by the Osprey 450e allows fewer computer systems to be used for capture of a given number of channels, dramatically reducing total system cost.

The Osprey 450e includes additional internal video inputs and 4 additional balanced audio inputs that can be switched in as alternatives to the rear panel connectors. The internal video inputs include the selection of component or Y/C (S-Video) for each of the 4 channels.

Familiar features of other Osprey multimedia-class cards have been retained, including options for Simulstream cropping, logo overlay, and VBI data extraction. Multiple cards may be used in a single system chassis. The Osprey 450e is compatible with the Osprey SDK for development of media applications supporting DirectShow.

Optimized for the Latest PC Architectures

PC manufacturers have adopted the PCI Express (PCIe) bus as the latest high-throughput internal bus architecture. The best PC graphics cards use this bus because it unleashes the power of modern multi-core PC engines.

ViewCast chose the PCI Express bus for the Osprey 450e for the same reasons - unfettered access to all PC resources. No bottlenecks, no mysterious glitches, no unexplained hiccups, no random data collisions. Just smooth, unadulterated power. Power that can support multiple Osprey PCIe cards in one system.

Optimized for Live Streaming

Take advantage of the Osprey 450e's Designed for Live features like Logo Bitmap Overlay with transparency and positioning controls. Automatically detect and adapt on-the-fly when the input video format changes from Movie frame rates to Television frame rates. The Osprey 450e can do the job today and is ready for your future applications.

Multiple Streams per Input

Purchase the Osprey 450e with Simulstream and feed audio and video to multiple encoders at the same time. Use it with ViewCast Niagara SCX to easily create and manage live streams in RealVideo, Windows Media, Adobe Flash Video, and MPEG-4 at the same time, in any combination. Or create multiple streams of the same type with completely independent settings for sizing, scaling, logos, and bit rate.

Global Standards Support

Like all Osprey cards, the Osprey 450e supports global analog standard-definition formats, including NTSC, PAL, and most others used throughout the world. If you are a global OEM integrator seeking a single-solution deployment strategy, this card's for you.

Professional Features for Broadcasters

Features like color space conversion, automatic telecine detection and processing, and automatic optimization for changing motion content make this a perfect choice for broadcast professionals. We've added broadcaster-requested features like Loss of Video Detection that lets you automatically substitute internally-generated SMPTE colorbars with an optional text overlay.

Compatible with Popular Application Software

The Osprey 450e works with popular video capture and encoding applications, including our own Niagara SCX multi-codec streaming manager. Some of those other cards lock you in to a select few applications.

Industry-Proven Performance

Over 300,000 Osprey cards are in daily worldwide operation in a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and broadcast applications. You'll find Osprey capture cards in mission-critical applications throughout the world.
