The MediaHub allows hotel guests to connect their own personal media devices (camera, iPod, Zune, games console etc.) to the in-room TV system. The MediaHub utilizes a modular design allowing flexibility in configuration and installation. The MediaHub is designed to fit in-wall, making it secure and hiding cables from view. The unit is compact and requires only 45mm depth. A desktop conversion kit is also available where wall mounting is not an option. No two requirements are the same, inputs on TV's vary and trends in the industry mean new interface types frequently appear. The media interfaces are built on modules which fit into the MediaHub allowing configuration flexibility. The trim and finish of the MediaHub can also be customized to match the surrounding decor control options. The type of TV installation will define the control interface selected for the MediaHub. The Active MediaHubs integrate with the existing in-room entertainment systems to provide a seamless experience for the guest. If you use a VOD provider, the MediaHub TA-7610 serial communications protocol notifies the in-room set-top box (STB) which input the guest has selected. The STB then instructs the TV to switch input sources if necessary. In addition, the STB can query the status of the MediaHub and ensure it is operational. Alternatively, if you are using the Philips ITV range, the MediaHub TA-7620 can be configured to control the TV directly. When the guest selects a particular input stream, the MediaHub can switch the TV input source using the SmartPort interface.

Note: Where VGA is not supported on the TV a VGA to HDMI converter module can be installed. Selecting the Input Source - MediaHub (TA-7610) Active HDMI: The Active MediaHubs support auto-detection of all inputs (except USB) which means the TV will automatically display the last active input source. Alternatively the guest can also manually select the desired input source by pressing the appropriate button directly above the input connector. An LED built into each switch clearly identifies which input source is active.
