The iConverter 4Tx 10/100 Ethernet Managed Switch module is a member of the iConverter product family. It provides a compact 4-Port 10/100 Ethernet switch that is expandable across the iConverter 19-Module, 5-Module and 2-Module chassis backplanes, as well as being supported as a stand-alone switch with the iConverter 1-Module Chassis.The iConverter 4Tx UTP ports feature 10/100Mbps speed, half/full duplex, and auto-negotiation with both hardware and software controls. Hardware control is available for two ports while all four ports are under software control for these features.RJ-45 crossover support eliminates need for a crossover cable and facilitates connectivity to different types of network equipment. The 4Tx Cross-Over switch is supported on Port 1. Ports 2, 3, and 4 support an automatic cross-over detection mode. The 4Tx also features two Ethernet backplane ports to provide connectivity to adjacent modules for network expansion and for In-Band connectivity to an iConverter Network Management Module.4Tx enhanced features include Port VLAN which allows complete control of traffic flow between a module's ports, and Port Control which incorporates remote management of each individual port. The 4Tx supports reporting of MIB statistics. Statistics are available for 32 variables per port, reporting a wide range of real-time packet statistics to provide performance and operational monitoring.Like all iConverter modules, the 4Tx is hot swappable and supports four mounting options. It can be mounted in a 19-Module (2U, 3.5 inch high) or 5-Module (1U, 1.75 inch high) space-saving rack-mountable chassis (19-inch or 23-inch) with any combination of redundant AC and 48VDC power supplies. It can also be mounted in a 2-Module AC or 48VDC powered chassis or in a 1-Module AC powered chassis.The iConverter family is an In-Band or Out-of-Band SNMP-managed media converter family. Supporting 10, 100, 10/100, Gigabit Ethernet, T1, E1, OC-3 and OC-12 technologies, the iConverter family is suitable for LAN and MAN networks where copper to single or redundant fiber, multimode fiber to single-mode fiber, or dual-fiber to single fiber conversions are required.
