Q&A
The FortiWifi-50B adds a built-in wireless access point to the enterprise-level, multi-threat protection of FortiGate appliances, making it ideal for small remote offices and telecommuting applications. It offers standard 802.11 b/g support, dual Wide Area Network (WAN) ports for load balancing or redundant internet connections, and three integrated switch ports for multi-user environments.Same enterprise-class protection found in the FortiGate product line, including firewall, IPS, VPN, antivirus, antispyware, antispam, web filtering, and application control (e.g., IM and P2P), VoIP support, and layer 2/3 routing. Dual WAN links for redundant ISP connectivity deliver high availability with load balancing and failover. Multiple SSID capability supports up to four independent wireless access networks, enabling unencrypted guest or contractor access to Internet while keeping corporate network access limited and secure. Three internal switch ports eliminate need for additional hub, reducing equipment investment and management burden. Can be powered by Power over Ethernet (POE) to further ease installation and deployment and reduce equipment investment. High-availability support brings scalability and reliability to branch offices, SOHO, service provider CPE, and mobile point-of-sale applications. Intuitive web-based user interface for rapid deployment and low operational costs. Available FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer appliances simplify security management and reduce operating expenses in multiple deployments. FortiGuard Subscription Services deliver automated, real-time, up-to-date protection against security threats and exploits.
