It can serve as an upgrade or replacement to the Cisco Aironet 350 Wireless Bridge by providing over-the-air compatibility with existing Cisco Aironet 350 Series wireless bridges. While in bridge mode, client associations are also accepted—effectively providing simultaneous bridge and access-point capability.

As a workgroup bridge, the Cisco Aironet 1300 quickly connects any Ethernet-enabled device, such as a laptop or other portable computer, to a WLAN. By adding a standard Ethernet hub or switch, you can connect up to 255 of these devices to any Cisco Aironet access point or wireless bridge.
