igned to make managing busy IT environments easier, the ServSelect IP™ enables you to control all your data center computers with one keyboard, monitor, and mouse. Plus, it simplifies access by allowing connections via a TCP/IP network. That means you can access, switch between, troubleshoot—and even reboot—up to 16 attached servers and other network devices from a remote WAN workstation. For dual-user access, order the KV121A. With it, two users can connect to a server farm from two separate locations over industry-standard TCP/IP paths anywhere in the world! In addition to the port for IP access, both ServSelect IP models are equipped with an analog port on the local side for traditional KVM switching functions. Features: Making connections in the data center:Connections to individual servers are made easy with the ServSelect IP Server Access Module (KV125A). Order one of these PC-only modules for each server in your data center. Powered by their connected servers, the modules “keep alive“ even if the ServSelect IP loses its power. No special cables are required to link your ServSelect IP with the modules. All you need is ordinary, easy-to-handle, Category 5 UTP cable. This type of connection cuts down on the amount of cable at the rack, so you can establish higher server density while providing greater airflow and cooling capacity. The Server Access Module not only has an RJ-45 connector for making CAT5 connections, it also has a built-in color-coded KVM cable that plugs into the server’s keyboard, monitor, and mouse ports. No special software required:To access the ServSelect IP as well as all attached systems via Ethernet, just load the included ServSelect IP software. No special software or drivers need to be installed on the connected servers, and user PCs can be anywhere you can establish a network connection. Even if your data network goes down, you can access your servers from a separate network.ServSelect IP software includes an on-screen configuration and activity reporting interface for local port operation. This interface features intuitive menus that make system configuration and server selection easy. Just point and click to access and control the server of your choice. You can even access multiple servers at the same time, displaying each computer’s video in separate windows on your screen. What’s more, the interface software enables you to give your servers names that make sense to you! The ServSelect IP™ includes a null-modem cable that plugs into the configuration port on the back panel and connects to a terminal or PC running terminal-emulation software. Use this null-modem cable connection to set network speed and the IP address for the ServSelect IP. Superior security capabilities:Once you configure the topology of the computers attached to the ServSelect IP, you can use the device’s management software to define the access granted to each computer Adjust video automatically or manually:Video resolutions through the analog port can be up to 1600 x 1280 with an end-to-end cable length of up to 15 meters (49.2 ft.). Digital users can get resolution of up to 1280 x 1024 with a cable length of up to 10 meters (32.8 ft.) between the ServSelect IP and the server. Although the system adjusts automatically to the optimal video parameters, you can also fine-tune the image manually and set refresh and frame rates.
