"List price" is the suggested retail price provided to us by our vendors. We make no representation that a substantial number of these products have been sold or offered for sale at the list price. Actual retail prices in your area may be substantially different. Since we sell products on a national basis, it is not possible to know if our merchandise is sold at list price in any particular location or at any particular time. "You Save" reflects the difference between our price and the vendor provided list price shown on our sites. Since the list price may be different than the actual retail prices in your area, you may not actually realize a savings of this amount.

Manufacturers sometimes ask that retailers not display a price if it drops below a certain amount. The "Click here to see Lowest Price" message indicates that the price of the item is so low that the manufacturer requested that it not be advertised (that is, displayed). In a brick-and-mortar store, you would probably have to ask a salesperson what the price of the product is. At eCOST, by clicking on "Click here to see Lowest Price" you are essentially asking to see the price, at which point we show it to you.

The KN4116 is an IP-based KVM with multi-bus consoles, allowing simultaneous and independent access for a maximum of five users [ 1 local , 4 IP ] to control 16 directly connected servers [cascade to 128 ].

The use of TCP/IP for its communications protocol, provides access via its IP address from anywhere on the LAN, WAN, or Internet.

Remote operators can log in via a browser or make use of stand-alone Windows or Java applications. Java ensures multi-platform operability with any operating system supporting the Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Using the client software allows for a direct connection to the KVM by-passing the browser. Either method [browser or client] and either application [Windows or Java] give remote operators the feeling of being directly connected to the KVM.

Local console switching is accomplished either by entering hotkey combinations from the keyboard, or by using the same GUI interface as the remote users.

The unit has two methods for monitoring attached servers, AutoScan permits the incremental monitoring of selectable servers at a configurable rate, and Panel Array Mode which can simultaneously display a view of up to 16 servers in a grid array [42 in cascaded installations].

The switches feature RJ-45 connectors allowing them to use standard CAT 5e cable to link to the computers. This space-saving innovation provides a full 16-port switch installation in a 1U system rack, and permits the servers to be placed as far away as 130 ft.

Some of the unique aspects of the KN4116 are, Dual 10/100/1000 Mbps NICs, Dial in PPP connection, Power Over the Net [via Java], Panel array, and Video quality / tolerance adjustments to optimize performance.

With advanced security features, the KN4116 provides the fastest, most reliable, and cost effective way to remotely access and manage widely distributed multiple computer installations.

Features:
  • Supports up to five bus sessions- 1 local and 4 IP - administrators can simultaneously access separate ports, plus an additional 28 users may log on to share the 4 IP connections.
  • 16 port remote access KVM switch – monitor and control up to 16 directly connected computers, and up to 128 computers in a two-level cascade.
  • Two 10/100/1000 Mbps NICs for redundant LAN.

Requirements:

Remote Console Computers
  • For best results we recommend that the computers used to access the switch have at least a P III 1 GHz processor, with their screen resolution set to 1024 x 768.
  • Browsers must support 128-bit SSL encryption.
  • For best results, a network transfer speed of at least 512kbps is recommended.
  • For the Windows Client application, DirectX 8 must be present
  • For the browser-based Java applet and Java Client AP, the latest version of Sun's Java Runtime Environment (JRE) must be installed.

Computers
  • The following equipment must be installed on the servers connected to the KVM
  • VGA, SVGA or Multisync video port
  • For USB connections: a Type A USB port and USB host controller
  • For PS/2 connections: 6-pin mini-DIN keyboard and mouse ports
