Q&A
Protecting just the AC line for a notebook computer is not enough. Lightning or other damaging surges can enter and destroy your equipment through the phone line as well. The SurgeArrest Notebook Protector protects both paths - and guarantees it!
    Features:
Building wiring fault indicator      Data-line Protection      Lightning and Surge Protection      Phone Line Splitter      Protection Working Indicator      Surge Protection
IEEE let-through rating and UL 1449 compliance IEEE tests simulate a surge of 6.000 volts, such as in a direct lightning hit. Let through rating indicates the maximum voltage that will reach your equipment when suppressed by an APC Surge Protector. Typical equipment, such as computers and home electronics, are built to withstand surges up to 500 volts, thus 330V let through volts would not put any stress on your equipment. APC Surge Protector's let through rating exceeds UL's toughest standard (UL 1449) of let through rating of less than 330 volts.
Data-line Protection Reliable power protection for Notebook computers and data line protection for a modem, fax, phone or answering machine.
Noise Filtering SurgeArrest attenuates EMI/RFI line noise that can cause data errors and keyboard lockups, ensuring better performance of protected equipment.
Cord Management To help organize power cords.
Fail Safe Mode Most other surge suppressors continue to let power through even after their circuits have been damaged, leaving your equipment exposed to future surges. APC's Surge Protectors fail safe, which means that once the circuit of an APC Surge Protector has been compromised the unit disconnects equipment from the power supply ensuring that no damaging surges reach your equipment.
Protection working indicator SurgeArrest will warn you if its circuitry has been damaged by heavy strike or power line surge and it is unable to provide 100% protection. If still under warranty, APC will then replace your damaged SurgeArrest free of charge.
Site wiring fault indicator In order to work properly, surge suppressors require a correctly wired and grounded outlet. APC SurgeArrests identify dangerous wiring problems and indicate it before you plug in your equipment.
