 Good Business Monitor, 2012-08-22

HP has a confusing array of different monitors. I bought this one thinking it was the 2311x instead of the LV2311. The main benefits to the 2311x are that it comes with both VGA and DVI cables, and has an HDMI port. I was a little bit disappointed that this monitor did not come with a DVI cable in the box (a VGA cable is included). But on the other hand, this monitor is slightly more energy efficient both when on and idle, and comes with a 3 year warranty instead of a standard 1 year warranty.
Assembly was quite easy and involved inserting the arm into the back of the monitor and then into the base. The only thing I'd like to have is a slightly taller arm/base, or the ability to adjust height. It's a bit shorter than ideal sitting on my desk, so I end up having to tilt it back some. I wasn't blow away by the picture quality, but the viewing angles are wide enough, colors and contrasts are good enough, and text is sharp enough for the office use that I do mostly. No complaints, especially in light of how affordable it was.
