If you are not sure about buying a refurb, don't be, this thing looked new, was packaged like it was new and included everything ecxept the walk-through set up cd, which is just a stupid thing to have anyways. They should really have a manual and not some cd rom, alas, that is a Denon issue. I just downloaded the manual in pdf form for free from Denon anyways. The set up was slightly confusing in regards to programming the remote, but once I figurred it out it was very easy. The sound quality is the best I have heard from this price range, plenty of power to push my 5.1 set up to it's limits and fill my HUGE living room. Having Audyssey MultiXTas a set up tool is great, though you may want to tweak it after as I did. Make sure you set the crossover to 80HZ for everything if you have a sub and that all your speakers are set to SMALL, IF you have a separate sub that is. Been VERY happy with it so far, I feel like I got a great price on a great product. 270 instead of 399 plus tax at the big box stores. MacMall is great for these little refurb deals!!!!!
