  Great refurb deal on great receiver! Tons of features!,  2012-02-03

Got this receiver to replace a Sony DG820 I was using. Old receiver wasn't terrible but was very fickle working with my Harmony remote and wanted to do a 3D upgrade.
Got this as a refurb unit. Great quality- would not be able to tell it was a refurb unit except for the label on the box it came in.
I'll tell you what I like and about this unit:
- HDMI pass through - I have my Tivo hooked up and enabled pass through so that I can watch TV with sound just through the TV if I leave the receiver on standby or I can watch with my full sound system. Love that feature for the visits from my tech-averse parents.
- Airplay - works great with my iPhone 4s through playing off the native apps and also works with Spotify
- GUI - haven't had a receiver with a GUI before. What a difference it makes! The GUI is admittedly low-res but very functional. I also like that it overlays the master volume no matter what input I have it set on.
- 3D pass through- it works. nuff said.
- works great with my Harmony remote - no glitches like with my old Sony receiver
- Much cleaner back panel layout than my Sony
- tons of HDMI inputs!

Not much that I don't like. The refurb warranty was less than I like so I bought the extended warranty. Can't comment on that as I haven't needed to use it yet. The CD-ROM manual is fairly annoying but it can be found online. The new unit was a little too pricey for me given what I was upgrading from- refurb pricing hit my perfect price point.
