I received my Elitebook yesterday, and it booted up with no problems, running the intializations for Windows 7 Professional (install DVD included as a backup). My unit had some minor cosmetic flaws from its previous owner, but nothing serious and certainly nothing that affects the operation of the laptop. The screen is perfect and the keyboard is fine too.
A couple of notes:
1. This unit was advertised with an 80GB hard drive but it has a 120GB Samsung 1.5 inch drive (not the 'usual' 2.5 inch SATA drives we all love to swap out). This was a pleasant surprise, however I certainly can't guarantee that other purchasers will have a 120GB drive unless the spes are in error for all these units.
2. This is NOT a consumer-oriented laptop. It does not have a DVD drive or stereo speakers, though it has a stereo sound card with the normal headphone and microphone jacks. It has a lot of hardware features that support corporate security measures, and it is "ruggedized" to withstand some punishment that consumer-oriented laptops might not survive.
