  Drive works,  2012-08-23

The drive appears to work properly--that's about all one can expect. I have the drive daisy-chained to another FireWire 800 drive, with no problems. Transfers between the drives are very fast.

I had one problem: the LaCie Setup application for Mac OS didn't run. LaCie support said that I was out of luck and should just use Disk Utility to format the drive. Turns out that LaCie Setup requires OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard); I was using 10.5.8. When I upgraded to 10.6 for another reason, it suddenly worked. No problems with the drive, but LaCie should be clear as to the system requirements.
