 Review of the Samsung7" Galaxy, 2013-01-21

This is my first tablet and decided to purchase it due to the inexpensive cost. I own Apple products so I am familiar with their operation. However, I wanted to try the tablet concept out to see if really is an enhancement or not. I will use it only as an entertainment device .The following is my impression:
- Operation and functionality: Good to very good. The 7 " screen is a good size to view books and movies. For web pages, it was enough however, I think this is where a bigger screen would have helped. The unit powers up quickly , however, it was challenging trying to orient to Android after using Apple IOS. I did received an upgrade this weekend to the software and it seemed to orient the pages better on the screen.
-Applications: Good, I like the basic applications that they provide, Youtube, NetFlicks, Kindle Books. I have not used any of the business tools. However, it seems that Apple has more selections. I am not a game player so no comments on those. However, mail was very good and the app picked my mail provider quickly and configured .
Options: I purchased a cover, touch stick and protective screen shielding and these items were good investment to protect the device.
Overall- Very good so far. Fits my needs for a portable device for travel vs. taking a full PC. Recommend if you are on a budget and want a first tablet.
