Some good and some bad points, 2011-12-27 By Dave
The Good: The color of the clock: For some reason most ipod clock radios use blue or white clocks, which light up the entire room, even when dimmed. This clock is a very soft orange. Easy to read and can be dimmed all the way off. Sound: The sound of the speakers is very good, especially for this price and for a clock radio.
The Bad: Buttons/Controls. For some reason the designers thought if would be good to limit this thing to 6 buttons. Those 6 buttons control the clock radio and the ipod. It is not easy to use this. Also, when it comes to waking up in the morning, finding the snooze and/or turning off the alarm takes a bit of concentration and tactile control. Not something most people have when waking up.
The Odd: For some reason when you use the sleep function, when the time runs out, the unit turns off but it doesn't shut down the ipod. So my ipod classic kept playing, to itself, all night long. I don't get my iphone until next week so I don't know if it will work differently.
Overall, the sound and the clock make a big enough difference for me. I'm trying to get used to the odd controls.
