How does it work?

A panel of judges (none of whom are employed by eCOST.com nor Apple) will grade all eligible entries based on: a) Creativity and b) Quality of Work. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry which is deemed inappropriate, offensive or demeaning to Sponsor's reputation or goodwill. All decisions are final. The winner will be notified by e-mail and/or phone by December 31, 2005. The winner shall be required to complete signed an affidavit of eligibility/liability/publicity release, which must be signed and returned so that it is received within 10 days of the date printed on the prize notification, or the next highest score entrant will be awarded the respective prize. Failure to comply may result in forfeiture of all rights to the prize.

Entries must be three (3) minute multi-media submissions using any form of MAC® equipment and software in Quick-Time® format. To be eligible, entries must be received by Sponsor by 12:00 p.m. PDT, December 1, 2005. Entrant must be the sole author and copyright owner of entry, or Entrant must have permission (via license or otherwise) to use.



(Not Available to Residents of Arizona) MUST BE OVER 18 YEARS OLD TO ENTER. Participation constitutes Entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. The eCost Mac Video Awards ("MVA" or "Contest") commences at 12:01 a.m. PDT on April 01, 2005 and ends at 12:00 p.m. PT on December 1, 2005. Contest is sponsored and run by eCost.com,("eCost" or "Sponsor") a corporation, headquartered at 2555 W. 190th Street, Torrance, CA 90504 (310) 354-5600 ("Sponsor"). Void where prohibited.

(1) Eligibility: Contest is offered only to natural persons older than 18 years of age as of the date of entry. Employees, independent contractors, officers, and directors of Sponsor, or Apple Computer, Inc., there affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, and the immediate family members and persons living in the same household of such persons, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. Void where prohibited by law. No purchase is required to enter this Contest.

(2) How to Enter: Follow these rules and access Sponsor's Web Site at http://www.ecost.com and follow the submission directions as stated on the website including the printing of the pdf entry and disclaimer form that must be printed, signed and submitted to the eCost address above. Entries must be three (3) minute multi-media submissions using any form of MAC® equipment and software in Quick-Time® format. To be eligible, entries must be received by Sponsor by 12:00 p.m. PDT, December 1, 2005. Entrant must be the sole author and copyright owner of entry, or Entrant must have permission (via license or otherwise) to use or incorporate those entry portions authored or owned by third parties. Use of images and works in the public domain may be incorporated into entries. However, materials which infringe on the rights of any third party may not be used. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or unintelligible entries. Incomplete or illegible entries are not eligible. eCost will, each week during the Contest, feature selected Contestants&8217; entries on the eCost website.

(3) Grand Prize: One Grand Prize Winner will receive a 30" Apple® Display (459838) and a Power Mac® G5 (448986)(Approximate retail value ("ARV"): US $4,988).
At Sponsor's expense, the Grand Prize shall be shipped via United Parcel Service to Winner's mailing address on or around December 31, 2005 (prize will not be delivered to P.O. Boxes). All prize expenses and/or services not specified are not included and are the sole responsibility of the Winner. Cash equivalent may be permitted. Prize is nontransferable. All federal, provincial, state and/or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the Winner.

(4) Winner: The Winner will be determined by the highest overall grading score from all eligible entries received. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry which is, in the judging panel's discretion, inappropriate, offensive or demeaning to Sponsor's reputation or goodwill. Winner will be notified by e-mail, and/or phone by December 31, 2005 and shall be required to complete an affidavit or declaration of eligibility/liability/publicity release which must be signed and returned so that it is received within 10 days of the date printed on the prize notification, or the next highest score entrant will be awarded the respective prize. Failure to comply may result in forfeiture of all rights to the prize. Sponsor is not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify Winner. If a prize or prize notification letter is returned as undeliverable, prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner will be awarded. Accepting and/or using prize constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use Winner's name, hometown (including state or province) and/or likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation.

(5) General Terms and Conditions: By participating, Entrants agree that Sponsor, its shareholders, agents and representatives, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible or liable for, and shall be released and held harmless from: (i) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (ii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Sponsor that may cause the Contest to be disrupted or corrupted; (iii) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest; (iv) any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with or resulting from participation in the Contest, acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel Contest at any time if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper conduct of the Contest. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of Contestant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of the State of California or any other jurisdiction), that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California.

(6) Winner List/Official Rules: A copy of these official rules and the name of the Winner may be obtained by sending an email request to eCost.com, or by fax request (310)-630-3578. Requests for name of Winner must be received by August 30, 2005.
